Our car sharing co-op offers an alternative to owning or renting. Simply join, book cars and drive!The Benefits of Car SharingSave money over owning if you drive less than 10,000 km per year. Less expensive than commercial car rentals. No vehicle repair or maintenance. Access to a variety of vehicles. Access to auto co-op vehicles in other carshares including Vancouver and Victoria. You do not pay any fuel costs, that is picked up by the Co-op. Environmental Benefits Fewer km driven = reduced greenhouse gases. Fewer vehicles = less consumption/manufacturing. Well maintained vehicles = cleaner emissions. How it Works You pay a one time $500 deposit, which is fully returnable. Everyone will pay the lowest fee depending on KM driven in any one month: Low usage: less than 100 KMs per month. $ 4.16/month, $ 1.50/hr for first 8 hours .50 cents per hour after that plus $ .35/km (includes gas) Moderate usage: 100KMs to 300 KMs per month. $ 10/month, $ 1.50/hr for first 8 hours .50 cents per hour after that plus $ .28/km (includes gas) High usage: over 300 KMs per month. $ 35/month, $ 1.50/hr for first 8 hours .50 cents per hour after that plus $ .20/km (includes gas) Rates for some vehicles $ .03/km less.
